Jason joined the Galpins team in November 2001, and has completed a Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Accounting and Financial Planning from Deakin University in 2004. He completed the Institute of Chartered Accountants CA Program in 2006.
After finishing school in Mount Gambier, Jason helped manage the family's 400 cow dairy farm at Allendale for a number of years until he decided on a career in accounting. His experience from the farm has made him invaluable to the rural clients he serves as he has been through the ups and downs of rural life and is abreast of current issues through his continued involvement with the family farm.
Along with his rural client base, Jason also has clients across different industries from retail to construction to hospitality and everything in between. One of his aims is to help his clients by producing financial reports that are relevant to their enterprise, and then working with the client as they use the information to make decisions about their business.
Outside of his role at Galpins, Jason enjoys summer out on the tennis court, playing for the Mount Gambier Tennis Club where he is a former President and Treasurer. In winter, he is a keen supporter of the Essendon Football Club. He also enjoys spending his spare time with his 2 young children and in his garden; his lilies are the envy of the female staff members of the firm.
