Luke joined Galpins in 2004 initially working in tax. In 2005 he began working in audit and assurance, and other consulting services which continues to this day. Luke is responsible for, and manages, large and small audit and assurance engagements across a range of industries.

Luke specialises in the area of audit and other consulting services for state government, local government, not for profit entities and trust accounts. Luke has a great ability to interpret and explain financial statements, budgets, audit reports and audit management letters in simple easy to understand language.

Originally from Penola in the South East, Luke initially worked in the Mount Gambier office and now operates out of the Norwood office on Kensington Road.

Luke was recently the volunteer Treasurer for Riding for the Disabled SA, using his skills and knowledge to support the organisation.

  Simon Smith
Simon Smith

Simon Smith

Simon is a registered company auditor and brings an outstanding level of professionalism, technical accounting and 'can do' attitude to all his engagements.

An extremely positive person, Simon has an uncanny ability to work through the client's financial matters, clearly identifying and addressing their requirements and concerns, and demystifying complex issues across all levels of the organisation. His key areas of focus include financial audit services, compliance audit services and consulting.

Simon began his career in the SA public sector and has a strong understanding of the fundamentals and principles surrounding public sector accounting. Simon is well respected by his peers and his staff and takes an active role in assisting young accountants with their professional and personal development through his role as a CPA Mentor.

An active member of the community with a keen interest in music, Simon can often be seen supporting young musicians and performing for charitable organisations in his spare time.

Tim Muhlhausler

Tim Muhlhausler 

As a partner at Galpins Tim is focused and driven to achieve his and his client's goals. Tim is a Registered Company Auditor, Registered SMSF Auditor and Chartered Accountant specialising in the areas of risk and assurance services, financial and compliance auditing, internal audit and consulting with a particular focus on local government and the public sector.

Tim's passion for improved governance and assurance across government has seen him appointed in leadership roles as Chairperson of the Institute of Internal Auditor's (SA Chapter Council), Chairperson of the South Australian Local Government Auditors' Group (Tim was also the Chairperson of the coordinating committee for the formation of this group) and Presiding Member for the City of Mitcham Audit Committee. He is also an independent member of the Audit and Risk Committee for East Waste.

Through these roles and his position as Partner at Galpins, Tim aims to influence improved practice both for his clients and across the sectors in which they operate. He has held lead roles in two award winning internal control projects, and is a vocal advocate for continuous improvements that do not simply tick a compliance box, but actually underpin improved operational and strategic performance.

Tim's outstanding academic ability coupled with his practical, friendly approach to auditing has seen him add significant value to his clients through the provision of audit and related services.

Tim is approachable and very open to the thoughts and views of others. When all the auditing is done, Tim enjoys nothing more than spending time with his growing family.

Annabel Wheaton

Annabel Wheaton Analyst

Annabel commenced with Galpins in April 2017, working in administration. Since January 2018, she has progressed into the audit team as an Analyst. She is primarily involved with the audits for schools and health clients.

Annabel is studying a Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in Accounting and International Business at The University of Adelaide.

Prior to joining Galpins, Annabel worked with her dad on their family's farming property in Tailem Bend.

Outside of work, Annabel gets involved in various sporting activities and enjoys catching up with her family and socialising with friends.

Deidre Armour

Deidre Armour Administration Officer

Deidre is the Administration Officer for the Galpins Norwood office, providing administrative support to the partners and staff, and a friendly & cheerful welcome for our visitors at Galpins.

Prior to joining Galpins in April 2018, Deidre worked as a temp for two and a half years through Entree Recruitment, one of Adelaide's leading recruitment agencies, providing temporary administration support to a variety of organisations within the Adelaide CBD and inner and outer metro areas. Prior to this, Deidre was the office administrator for a commercial construction company in Kent Town for nine years.

 Outside of work, Deidre loves to paint abstract art, enjoys the State Theatre Company plays, spending time with family and going to the movies and dinner with friends.

 

 

  Elliot Raboy

Elliot Raboy Auditor

Elliot has been a part of the Galpins team since 2014 specialising in both internal and external audits. He has extensive qualifications which includes a Bachelor in Economics and post graduate qualifications in Accounting and Information systems.

Elliot has worked across a number of industries in both finance and IT and has strong consulting experience working with SMBs, large corporations and in both the Government and non-profit sectors.

Since joining Galpins, Elliot has worked in a variety of areas including completing personal tax records, auditing trusts across Franchises, SMSFs, and Real Estate Agents, internal audits of Councils, and Government Departments as well as external audits across the State Schools.

Outside of work Elliot enjoys an active outdoor lifestyle living in Adelaide hills. If he's not gardening, trail running, or trail riding through the national parks, he can be found on the tennis court either coaching or playing competitively.

Harry Mlaco

Harry Mlaco Analyst 

Harry joined Galpins in April 2016 having previously worked at Brentnalls SA through the Chartered Accountants Scholarship program. Harry has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from The University of Adelaide.

Harry has been primarily involved in conducting audits for schools, councils & health clients, as well as acting as the registrar for numerous football leagues of the SANFL. He has an interest in learning all that he can in external audit, business and SMSF administration. Harry commenced the CA program at the start of 2017. 

Outside of work, Harry keeps himself active by playing soccer, basketball and tennis and enjoys spending time with family and friends and traveling interstate and overseas.

Janna Burnham Internal Audit Director

Janna joined Galpins in 2013 and has been providing internal audit and risk advisory services since 2004. She has extensive experience in reviewing a broad array of topics - from governance and strategy, to contractor management, procurement and compliance. She can provide you with useful, value-adding recommendations for improvement.

Trained at the Australian National Audit Office, Janna has extensive experience in providing internal audit, business advisory services and relationship management to federal, state and local government, as well as private enterprise.

Janna is a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), has a Masters in Management and undergraduate degrees in business and arts. She is a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors and an associate member of the SA Local Government Internal Auditors Network.

Outside of work, Janna spends time with her family, practices yoga and enjoys spending time with friends trying food of all cuisines.

Jessica Kellaway Audit Manager

Jessica has been with Galpins since graduating with a Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in Accounting in 2007. Jessica became a Certified Practicing Accountant in 2010.

Jessica has skills in external audit as well as financial accounting and providing financial statement preparation assistance for a variety of clients. Her main client base is government sector, education sector and not for profit clients.

Jessica joined Galpins in January 2018 working as an analyst. After completing a Master of Accounting and Finance at The University of Adelaide in 2017, Jessica joined General Electric and worked as an accountant for two and a half years. She has extensive experience in compensation and benefits payroll accounting, preparing materials for audit and liaising with external auditors, and project management and organisation.

Jessica has been primarily involved in conducting audits for schools, associations and health clients. She has a strong interest in undertaking various audit tasks and is dedicated to all the assignments. She has commenced the CPA program to enhance her professional knowledge.

Outside of work, Jessica spends most of her spare time reading, hiking and traveling. She is also keen on ranges of exhibitions, where she can find something new and creative to her.

  Juliano Freitas
Juliano Freitas

Juliano Freitas Audit Manager 

Juliano joined Galpins in 2010. Prior to that, he trained with KPMG as an Audit Supervisor. Juliano specialises in the area of audit for large proprietary companies, state government agencies and local government entities. Over the years, he has built his portfolio to also include managing consultancy services, corporate due diligences, solvency reviews and forensic audits.

His passion for corporate audits has enabled him to assist growing South Australian business to meet their financial reporting obligations within ASIC and compliance with the Corporations Act 2001. Juliano seeks to share his knowledge and experience with his clients to assist them to ease the financial reporting burden when transitioning to new financial reporting requirements.

Juliano has proven Local Government credentials, with substantial expertise in the areas of financial controls and accounting standards interpretations. Among his many achievements, he assisted a metropolitan council in South Australia to develop a robust financial internal controls framework that received an award at the 2016 LG Professionals Australia (first place in the category of Leadership in Financial Management).

Outside of work Juliano is a passionate soccer fan of the Almighty Corinthians and the Socceroos. He also enjoys writing and reading children's books to his daughter and spending time with his family.

  Pascal Marrot-Castellat
Pascal Marrot-Castellat

Pascal Marrot - Castellat Risk and Audit Manager

Pascal is a Risk and Audit Manager and internal controls specialist with Galpins. He brings broad experience developed across assignments in both the public and private sector through a range of operational, financial and compliance audits.

Pascal has also led the development of detailed risk and control frameworks for large corporate entities, government departments and agencies in SA and nationally. Prior to joining Galpins, Pascal spent over seven years with Deloitte in their audit and risk divisions.

He holds a Bachelor of Commerce and is currently completing the Chartered Accounting program.

Samuel Gallagher Analyst

Samuel joined Galpins in 2013 and has experience auditing a wide range of clients including State Government, private enterprise and not-for-profit entities. He has been involved in several significant external audit engagements, including audits on behalf of the Auditor-General's Department for the Department of Health. 

Samuel also has experience in the audit of SMSFs, Government and Independent Schools, Real Estate Trust Accounts, Local Councils and several Associations and Not-For-Profit organisations.

  Scott Durham

Scott Durham Business Advisor

Scott Joined Galpins in July of 2017 to take on the role of tax manager at our Norwood office after spending the last 15 years working in a couple of boutique accounting firms. Scott has a well-rounded knowledge of taxation issues for SME's in particular the area of small business CGT concessions. His strong analytical skills and the ability to think outside the square is what differentiates Scott from other business advisors. Simon Catlow Senior Analyst 

Simon is an experienced auditor across a variety of organisations spanning Indigenous Associations, State Government, not-for-profit and private enterprise. Simon's friendly approach accompanied with his thorough understanding of client needs has seen him excel in a senior position. Simon has particular expertise and experience in areas including data analytics, advanced use of Excel, real estate and solicitor trust account audits, government and independent school audits, and the preparation of financial statements.

Simon has undertaken several long term secondments in a variety of roles, including finance manager for local government entities, senior internal auditor and senior compliance officer at SA Government Departments. Simon continues to be a valued and respected member of the Galpins Norwood team and is the current manager of the audit team's graduate training program.

  Suhara Gunawardena
Suhara Gunawardena

Suhara Gunawardena Analyst

Suhara commenced with Galpins in July 2018, her first role in the accounting industry. Suhara is currently studying a Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in Accounting at The University of Adelaide and will complete her degree at the end of 2018.

 

Prior to joining Galpins, Suhara was studying at University and working part-time as a swimming instructor at Norwood Swim School for three and a half years.

Outside of work and study, Suhara enjoys going to swimming training on weekends and playing social touch football. Suhara is also the treasurer of the Adelaide Sri Lankan Students' Association at The University of Adelaide.

Yiyan Liang (Doris) Analyst

Yiyan joined Galpins in January 2018 and has been involved in the auditing of schools, local councils and the health sector. Yiyan is a positive and easy-going person with excellent time management skills.

Prior to joining Galpins, Yiyan had work experience with KPMG, in a real estate company and internet company in China in fields of auditing, risk management and management accounting.

Outside of work, she enjoys playing games and reading books with her two children and also enjoys sporting activities such as badminton and basketball.

  Zoe Hoang
Zoe Hoang

Zoe Hoang Senior Analyst 

Zoe is a valuable senior member of the Galpins team, and her combination of experience, team leading and technical competence make her an asset to the audit team and her clients. She has strong knowledge of the complexities of financial systems and reporting and has been involved in auditing financial statements and systems for several years. Zoe has experience auditing a wide range of clients and she has been involved in several significant external audit engagements, including audits on behalf of the Auditor-General's Department for the Department of Health and all eight previous Natural Resources Management Boards.  She has conducted reviews of financial internal controls frameworks and has experienced in board reporting. Zoe also manages the Galpins portfolio of school audits, coordinating work flow and training and review of files. Zoe's highly developed communication and interpersonal skills combined with her strong ability to form client relationships provides an excellent service experience for our clients.
