Luke Williams

Luke joined Galpins in 2004 initially working in tax. In 2005 he began working in audit and assurance, and other consulting services which continues to this day. Luke is responsible for, and manages, large and small audit and assurance engagements across a range of industries.

Luke specialises in the area of audit and other consulting services for state government, local government, not for profit entities and trust accounts. Luke has a great ability to interpret and explain financial statements, budgets, audit reports and audit management letters in simple easy to understand language.

Originally from Penola in the South East, Luke initially worked in the Mount Gambier office and now operates out of the Norwood office on Kensington Road.

Luke was recently the volunteer Treasurer for Riding for the Disabled SA, using his skills and knowledge to support the organisation.

Tim Muhlhausler 

As a director at Galpins Tim is focused and driven to achieve his and his client's goals. Tim is a Registered Company Auditor, Registered SMSF Auditor and Chartered Accountant specialising in the areas of risk and assurance services, financial and compliance auditing, internal audit and consulting with a particular focus on local government and the public sector.

Tim's passion for improved governance and assurance across government has seen him appointed in leadership roles as Chairperson of the Institute of Internal Auditor's (SA Chapter Council), Chairperson of the South Australian Local Government Auditors' Group (Tim was also the Chairperson of the coordinating committee for the formation of this group) and Presiding Member for the City of Mitcham Audit Committee. He is also an independent member of the Audit and Risk Committee for East Waste.

Through these roles and his position as Partner at Galpins, Tim aims to influence improved practice both for his clients and across the sectors in which they operate. He has held lead roles in two award winning internal control projects, and is a vocal advocate for continuous improvements that do not simply tick a compliance box, but actually underpin improved operational and strategic performance.

Tim's outstanding academic ability coupled with his practical, friendly approach to auditing has seen him add significant value to his clients through the provision of audit and related services.

Tim is approachable and very open to the thoughts and views of others. When all the auditing is done, Tim enjoys nothing more than spending time with his growing family.

Janna Burnham

Janna joined Galpins in 2013 and has been providing internal audit and risk advisory services since 2004. She has extensive experience in reviewing a broad array of topics - from governance and strategy, to contractor management, procurement and compliance. She can provide you with useful, value-adding recommendations for improvement.

Trained at the Australian National Audit Office, Janna has extensive experience in providing internal audit, business advisory services and relationship management to federal, state and local government, as well as private enterprise.

Outside of work, Janna spends time with her family, practices yoga and enjoys spending time with friends trying food of all cuisines.

Jessica Kellaway 

Jessica started her career at Galpins in 2007. She has over 15 years’ of experience in providing a wide range of external audit services including state government, local government, not-for-profit and self-managed superannuation funds and private entities.
  Jessica enjoys working across a broad range of sectors including health care, aged care, education, environment and community, amongst others. She has conducted a broad range of audits covering various organisational structures, including financial and non-financial compliance, prudential review, special investigations and performance audits.
  Jessica puts communication at the forefront of her work and believes that to be a crucial component to any audit engagement. She strives to have an honest and trusting relationship with her clients and aims to have a positive interaction with her clients. Jessica’s philosophy on audit is that audit is there to improve processes or areas of the business and is not about taking a ‘slap on the wrist’ approach.  She is extremely personable and this, together with her work ethic and professionalism, makes the audit process a valuable and sometimes even an enjoyable one.
  In her spare time Jessica loves to spend time with her three young boys and husband. She loves watching her boys play sport (go the Hahndorf maggies!) and likes to stay active by going to the gym. Jessica has lived in three different states, with her husband being in the Army, but is originally from the Adelaide Hills and believes there is no better state than SA!

Danika Brown 
Analyst

Danika is an enthusiastic and self-motivated team player, with a strong desire to help others find solutions through a positive and constructive approach. With over 10 years of experience in office management and corporate insurance claims management, Danika has prior experience that is directly relevant to her work as an analyst with Galpins. Through her work, Danika demonstrates excellent communication skills, high attention to detail and the ability to quickly understand new subject matter.

Since commencing with Galpins, Danika has assisted with internal audits and reviews within local and state government, in areas such as Fraud and Corruption Controls and follow-up/compliance audits.

In her spare time, Danika enjoys walking her dog Coco, listening to true-crime podcasts and catching up with friends.

Deidre Armour 
Administration Officer

Deidre is the Administration Officer for Galpins Norwood office, providing administration support to the directors and staff, and a friendly welcome for visitors to Galpins.

Prior to joining Galpins in April 2018, Deidre worked as a temp for two and a half years through Entree Recruitment, providing temporary administration support to various organisations within the Adelaide CBD and metro areas. Prior to this, Deidre was the office administrator for a construction company in Kent Town for 9 years, and also worked in Melbourne for 5 years with NAB Custodian Services.

Away from work, Deidre loves to paint abstract art, enjoys the State Theatre Company plays, walks in nature and spending time with family and friends.



Harry Mlaco 
Audit Manager
 

Harry joined Galpins in April 2016 having previously worked at Brentnalls SA through the Chartered Accountants Scholarship program.

Harry has been primarily involved in conducting audits for schools, associations and health clients, along with managing a number of Council audits each year. He has worked with the SANFL to improve corporate governance and financial management at local football clubs throughout South Australia. This included webinars, presentations, developing a handbook and other tools and templates to assist clubs. In addition to this, he has acted as the registrar for numerous football leagues across the State since arriving at Galpins. He has an interest in learning all that he can in audit, business, sporting club operations and SMSF administration.  

Outside of work, Harry keeps himself active by playing sport, and enjoys travelling and spending time with friends and family.

Juliano Freitas 
Audit Director
 

Juliano joined Galpins in 2010. Prior to that, he trained with KPMG as an Audit Supervisor. Juliano specialises in the area of audit for large proprietary companies, state government agencies and local government entities. Over the years, he has built his portfolio to also include managing consultancy services, corporate due diligences, solvency reviews and forensic audits.

His passion for corporate audits has enabled him to assist growing South Australian business to meet their financial reporting obligations within ASIC and compliance with the Corporations Act 2001. Juliano seeks to share his knowledge and experience with his clients to assist them to ease the financial reporting burden when transitioning to new financial reporting requirements.

Juliano has proven Local Government credentials, with substantial expertise in the areas of financial controls and accounting standards interpretations. Among his many achievements, he assisted a metropolitan council in South Australia to develop a robust financial internal controls framework that received an award at the 2016 LG Professionals Australia (first place in the category of Leadership in Financial Management).

Outside of work Juliano is a passionate soccer fan of the Almighty Corinthians and the Socceroos. He also enjoys writing and reading children's books to his daughter and spending time with his family




Kevin Young
Analyst

Kevin joined Galpins in April 2019, with this being his first role in the accounting industry. Kevin has primarily been involved in auditing schools, health clients, self-managed super funds and associations.

Prior to joining Galpins, Kevin worked in an administration role at the University of South Australia at the Mawson Lakes campus and the main office in the city.

Outside of work, Kevin enjoys playing darts at different associations and has been a South Australian representative for the last 7 years. He also enjoys travelling around the country with friends and family.

Lachlan Welch
Analyst

Lachlan joined Galpins in February 2022, having completed a Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Business (Finance) in November 2021. This is his first role within the accounting industry.

Lachlan has been primarily involved in auditing schools, councils, health clients, associations, and self-managed super funds. He has a strong interest in understanding and delving into a range of different client bases to broaden his understanding of the audit process. In November 2022, Lachlan became a provisional member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CAANZ) and commenced the CA Program.

Outside of work, Lachlan enjoys spending time with friends and family, keeping fit and active, travelling and playing and watching sport.

Linh Vo

Analyst

Linh commenced with Galpins in January 2021 as a Graduate Auditor.  Linh has mainly been engaged in the school audit program, audits of associations, self-managed superannuation funds and health clients.

Prior to joining Galpins, Linh worked at Adelaide University Vietnamese Students Association as Treasurer and Secretary.

She is currently undertaking studies to become a Chartered Accountant.

Outside of work, Linh loves sketching, painting and photography.  She likes spending her free time visiting museums, hiking, meeting friends and new people and reading books.

Patricia Cabasa
Intermediate Auditor 

Patricia commenced with Galpins as an intern in March 2018. In January 2019, she progressed into the audit team as an Analyst and has been primarily involved in auditing schools, trust accounts, self-managed super funds, councils, and health clients. Patricia has consistently demonstrated a participatory team spirit that encourages accountability, teamwork, and the continuous improvement of desired results. 

She is currently undertaking studies to become a Chartered Accountant.

Outside of work, Patricia practices yoga; travels overseas to visit her family, and enjoys reading crime-fiction novels.

Scott Durham 
Business Advisor

Scott joined Galpins in July of 2017 to take on the role of tax manager at our Norwood office after spending the last 15 years working in a couple of boutique accounting firms. Scott has a well-rounded knowledge of taxation issues for SME's in particular the area of small business CGT concessions. His strong analytical skills and the ability to think outside the square is what differentiates Scott from other business advisors. Simon Catlow 
Audit Manager

Simon is an experienced auditor across a variety of organisations spanning Indigenous Associations, State Government, not-for-profit and private enterprise. Simon has gained a reputation amongst his clients for his friendly approach accompanied with his thorough understanding of client needs. Simon has particular expertise and experience in areas including data analytics, advanced use of Excel, real estate and solicitor trust account audits, government and independent school audits, and the preparation of financial statements.

Simon has undertaken several long term secondments in a variety of roles, including finance manager for local government entities, senior internal auditor and senior compliance officer at SA Government Departments. Simon continues to be a valued and respected member of the Galpins Norwood team and is the current manager of the audit team's graduate training program.

Yiyan Liang 
Audit Manager

Yiyan joined Galpins in January 2018 and has been auditing a wide range of clients in local government, state government, and private enterprise sectors. She has also engaged in consultancy services related to the impact of new accounting standards. Yiyan's technical competence and strong communication and interpersonal skills have enabled her to establish enduring client relationships.

Prior to that, Yiyan has 8 years of experience working in KPMG; a public-listed real estate company, and an internet company in fields of auditing, risk management and management accounting, respectively. 

Outside of work, she enjoys hiking with her family and friends, reading and cooking.

Zoe Hoang 
Audit Manager

Zoe is a valuable senior member of the Galpins team, and her combination of experience, team leading and technical competence make her an asset to the audit team and her clients. She has strong knowledge of the complexities of financial systems and reporting and has been involved in auditing financial statements and systems for several years. Zoe has experience auditing a wide range of clients and she has been involved in several significant external audit engagements, including audits on behalf of the Auditor-General's Department for the Department of Health and all eight previous Natural Resources Management Boards.  She has conducted reviews of financial internal controls frameworks and has experienced in board reporting. Zoe also manages the Galpins portfolio of school audits, coordinating work flow and training and review of files. Zoe's highly developed communication and interpersonal skills combined with her strong ability to form client relationships provides an excellent service experience for our clients.
